International Film Competition

Health and environment
Submission of films until 1 March 2020.
Categories: 1 to 5 minutes; 5 to 15 minutes
The International Network on Children’s Health, Environment and Safety (INCHES) launches a 2nd International Film Competition on Health and Environment called “Focus on Children in a Healthy Environment” with themes “Climate” and “Environmental Health” .
The nominated films and winners of two categories will be shown at international conferences and at the 10th International Conference on Children’s Environment and Health in the Netherlands: (22nd – 24th April 2020). There are cash prizes up to € 1500 for the winners of two categories of films/videos: We will use YouTube or DVD’s for submission of the films. This International Film competition has the aim to promote the topic of health and environment and especially the topic of climate change and/or environmental health of children worldwide. The competition is open both for professionals in the film world or for students from the international film schools. But also for young non-professionals. There will be a specific category for these film or video makers. An international jury will select submitted films for nominated film sessions. We are also aiming to have films to be shown at the Leids Filmfestival in Leiden, the Netherlands. Besides the cash prizes, and the showing at an international film festival, the prizewinning films/video will be shown at some specific conferences worldwide.
INCHES was established by a group of organizations including representatives of NGO’s, universities, World Health Organization, U.S Environment Protection Agency and the European Environment Agency in 1998 in Amsterdam at the first International Conference on Children’s Environmental Health. Since the conference in Amsterdam there were international conferences in Washington (2001), London (2004), Vienna (2007) , Bangalore (2010, Lodz (2012), Jerusalem (2014), Barcelona (2016), Seoul (2018) and the next conference will take place in Amsterdam in 2020. INCHES mission is to create a healthier environment for children around the world by exchanging information, promoting research and training professionals.
