INCHES is looking forward to the future of children.
We are organizing the 12th edition of the International Conference on Children’s Health and Environment.
The location is at the University of Cairo, Egypt. The organizing committee thinks it is important for the scientific community to interact with other scientists, but also with policy makers and other stakeholders. How many new ideas do spark during the breaks of conferences? How many good suggestions do you get for your own research? So we decide to go for another live conference. The 8th of May is dedicated to specific training for young researchers in collaboration with senior participants of the conference.
It is an important opportunity to share experiences and scientific advances about children’s health and environment. Scientists, Policy Makers, Paediatricians, Nurses, Doctors, Educators, Urban planners, Interest groups, are all asked to contribute to this international conference.
6 & 7 th of May are the conference days. The 8th of May is dedicated for worokshops and training sessions. Program to be announced soonn.
Call for abstracts
The scope of the conference will include but is not be limited to the following topics distributed in 4 areas:
- Threats to children’s environmental health
- Climate Change, air and soil pollution, noise, food and malnutrition, safety of drinking water, drugs, e-waste, medical waste, deforestation, exposure to biological factors, degradation of biodiversity, poverty and environmental injustice
- Challenges in children environmental health
- Child and adult diseases due to environmental degradation: asthma, cancer, neurodevelopment disorders, endocrine disorders….
- Economic costs of diseases and inequity
- Urban development and children’s health
- Changes in interpersonal and community relations
- Cohort studies
- Opportunities
- Social issues, participation, increasing awareness in society of the interrelationship of health and environment
- Sensorisation of life: digital age issues: stress, gaming, blue light
- New professional profiles ‘Health and Environment’: professionals adapted to a “child and environmental health” culture
- Plasticity, optimal child and adolescent development, cognitive development
- Roadmap
- Biomonitoring
- Urban planning (greening the environment)
- Exposome
- Pediatric environmental health units
- Clinical tools: the green page and the paediatric environmental history,
- Education, training and advocacy in children environmental health,
- Healthy school environments

If you like to make an oral presentation or present a poster you have to submit an abstract.

All abstracts will be reviewed by members of the International Scientific Committee and assigned to the appropriate session for a paper, symposium, workshop or poster presentation.
Deadline for submitting abstracts: February 1st, 2026
Registration fee: € 150, students € 50. However, additional donations are welcome.
We are opting for a voluntary financial contribution for the expenses we have to make for inviting young scientists or students from LMIC. But any amount higher is very welcome.

Authors will be notified on acceptance for their abstract before 15th of February.
Each person registering for the conference (and not having an Egyptian passport) will have to submit a copy of their passport for security reasons before March 1st, 2026 to be allowed to enter the University of Cairo.
