Training

INCHES has initiated a project (Children’s Health, Environment, Safety Training – CHEST) that developed a training manual on children’s environmental health. This project was funded by DG Sanco of the European Union. The work was done based partly on the WHO developed training manual. The geographical focus of this project was the European region and the focus on target groups broader than only pediatricians. Both WHO Europe, from the Rome Center for Environmental Health and WHO Headquarters participated in this project. The project was finished by the end of May 2006. This project (CHEST) made an addition to the already by WHO produced modules. The other modules were produced by INCHES in co-operation with WHO and INCHES members. The training modules are prepared as a Powerpoint presentation. The slides may be used according to the trainer’s wishes. The content could be best adopted to the local situation, with information on local exposure data or specific issues. The notes below the slides provide background information.

If users have useful updates to the scientific content they are requested to forward this to INCHES by email.
